Peggy's Studio
Peggy Kiefert Krouse, Portrait Artist and Illustrator
Process and Timing
Peggy's portraits are
meticulously hand-drawn in
her studio from your special
photograph. The first step is
to supply the photo in the
proper format. Rest assured
that great care will be taken
with your precious photo, and
it will be returned to you with
the finished portrait.
When Peggy receives your photo, she will discuss your portrait
with you via e-mail, phone or in person if you are in the Milwaukee
area. What are you looking to capture in the portrait? Is there
anything in particular that you really enjoy about the photograph?
Be sure to let Peggy know. Information like this helps her to
provide the personal touches to her artwork, which makes the
memory even more special for you.
Once you have discussed the portrait and decided on the size and
details, Peggy will get to work! She starts by creating a basic
outline sketch of the illustration, just to get a feel for placement and
composition. Then she adds in all the detail and personality.
When finished, Peggy will e-mail you a version of the artwork that
you can view on your computer screen, and once you approve it,
she will mail or deliver the original work of art directly to you. It's
that simple!
Plan on about four weeks from the time she receives your
photograph to the time you receive your finished portrait. Please
contact Peggy if you require a portrait more quickly than that…
arrangements can be made!
Now that you know how it works, please contact Peggy so she can
get started on a special portrait just for you.
"Just wanted to let you know that I gave
my wife the portrait this morning
and she loved it! We've both always
loved that image of the kids, frozen
in time when they were still fragile, and
wide eyed. Thank you so much for your
time and effort on this project. It means
a great deal to us." --Pete Deubler, WI
